Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment (ADOS)
ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) is a "gold standard," standardized assessment tool used by clinicians to help diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by observing social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviors through structured activities tailored to age and language level, with versions for toddlers to adults, though it's part of a broader evaluation. It involves specific modules, from play-based tasks for non-verbal children to conversations for fluent speakers, helping identify strengths and weaknesses to guide support, often alongside other clinical history

Adaptive Behavior Assessment System (ABAS-3)
ABAS-3, is a standardized tool to evaluate a person’s daily living skills (adaptive skills) from infancy to old age (birth-89 years), identifying strengths and weaknesses in Conceptual, Social, and Practical domains across 11 skill areas like communication, self-care, and work. Used for diagnosing developmental disabilities, planning interventions, monitoring progress, and determining service eligibility, it involves ratings from parents, teachers, or self-reports, providing a comprehensive picture of functional independence.

Movement ABC
The Movement ABC (Movement Assessment Battery for Children) is a standardized, widely-used tool for allied health professionals (like OTs and physios) to identify motor skill difficulties in children aged 3-16, helping diagnose conditions like Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) and plan interventions by assessing manual dexterity, aiming/catching, and balance through physical tasks and caregiver checklists.
Sensory Profile
The Sensory Profile provides a standard method for professionals to measure a child's sensory processing abilities and to profile the effect of sensory processing on functional performance in the daily life of a child

Vineland - 3
The Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales (Vineland-3) is a widely used, standardized assessment to measure an individual's daily functional skills (adaptive behaviours) from birth to age 90, supporting diagnoses like autism or intellectual disabilities, and guiding personalized support plans in Communication, Daily Living, Socialization, and Motor Skills. It involves interviews with parents/caregivers or teachers, assessing practical skills like hygiene, social interaction, and problem-solving to identify strengths and needs for intervention.
The Rossetti Infant-toddler Language Scale
The Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale is designed to provide the clinician with a comprehensive, easy-to-administer, and relevant tool to assess the preverbal and verbal aspects of communication and interaction in the young child. The Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale is a criterion referenced instrument that assesses Interaction-Attachment, Pragmatics, Gesture, Play, Language Comprehension, and Language Expression. Behaviours can be directly elicited from the child, directly observed, or reported by parent or caregiver to credit the child's performance. All carry equal weight when scoring the scale. Results reflect the child's mastery of skills in each of the areas assessed at three-month intervals across developmental domains tested.

Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals
The CELF-5, or Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamental, is a standardised assessment tool used by speech pathologists to evaluate the language skills of children and adolescents aged 5 to 21 years. The CELF-5 provides valuable insights into how a child processes, understands, and uses language — essential for participation in school, play, and daily interactions.
It assesses both:
-
Receptive language (understanding what is heard or read)
-
Expressive language (using words and sentences to communicate)
Diagnostic Evaluation of Articulation and Phonology
Diagnostic Evaluation of Articulation and Phonology (DEAP) evaluates articulation and phonological process using a Diagnostic Screen, a diagnostic Articulation Assessment, a diagnostic Phonology Assessment (with a phonological analysis), and an Oral Motor Screen.

Functional Capacity Assessment
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is a comprehensive evaluation by a healthcare professional (like an Occupational Therapist) to determine a person's physical, cognitive, and social ability to perform daily activities and work, identifying strengths, limitations, and necessary supports for independence, often used for NDIS plans or return-to-work programs. It involves observing tasks like dressing, cooking, mobility, communication, and decision-making to create a big-picture view and recommend tailored strategies or funding.
